With the release of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, dressing up as a pirate has never been so popular. The popularity of pirates waxes and wanes, but the scoundrels never completely leave the landscape of American popular culture. The image of the reckless pirate or the bold buccaneer plying the seas and living by his own rules plays to the American psyche in a really fundamental way.
The persona of the pirate is sort of the dark side of the cowboy. Like the cowboy, the pirate makes his own way through grit and determination. Unlike the cowboy, however, the pirate lives by no rules, stealing what he likes and killing and plundering at will. Dressing like a pirate lets us live this fantasy in a fun, harmless way.
Part of what makes adult pirate costumes fun is how simple they can be. Throw on a pair of baggy, [...] Continue Reading…

The popularity of blogging and making money by blogging is increasing by the minute. Due to this, the need for blogging software is also increasing but which one do you pick as there are so many different packages available. Are you trying to conceive and thinking that every little change in the way you feel is a sign that you are pregnant?
It is easy to assume that a woman will notice symptoms of pregnancy. On the contrary, it is possible for a woman to carry a child in her womb for several months
without knowing that she is pregnant. In most cases, this happens because some of the first signs of pregnancy can be confused with other conditions. Since a woman’s body experiences hormonal changes during her normal monthly cycle, many of the symptoms associated with this natural occurrence can be mistaken for those of a pregnant woman.
One good indication of pregnancy is a missed period. If a woman notices that she has not had her monthly period, she could be pregnant. However, there are other reasons
that may stop the menstruation such as stress, extreme dieting, strenuous exercise, taking [...] Continue Reading…

Our whole family tries to make it a point to go on a vacation together at least once a year. My husband and I usually take the time and plan out every part of our trip, from the car we rent to the places we will go and see, but last year we tried one of those all inclusive vacation deals and it really made things a lot simpler.
The first one we tried involved a major theme park. We were going to fly to our destination, spend about week visiting the park and other local attractions, and then fly back home. I had been really busy right up to about the time that we were set to leave, so I had not had the opportunity to make any sort of travel plans of my own.
When I realized that the trip was less than a month away, and I really [...] Continue Reading…

In the scene in the movie The Social Network where Sean Parker which is Justin Timberlake’s character exclaims at a party that with the ability on Facebook to upload photos, everyone will be inspired to take their cameras with them everywhere they go and document all their parties and all their times together and put the pictures on Facebook. Facebook now has over 50 billion photographs, and everyone knows that what Sean Parker said came to pass however that was in 2004 when digital cameras were cool. Today, practically eight out of ten photographs on Facebook do not come from proper digital cameras, but from the cameras built into cell phones. People cannot be bothered too always carry a separate camera anymore and the sales of compact cameras are on the wane. Sometimes, even having to fish your big slab of a smartphone out and to hold it steady [...] Continue Reading…

Traditionally which is not very long in the case of digital cameras and camcorders, makers of these imaging products never had the nerve to stop participating in the big megapixel war, because they felt that this was the one thing that the general public understood about their products. If a customer sought out camcorders at the shop and found that one had 5 megapixels and the other had 4.2 megapixels then why would he choose 4.2 camcorder never mind that the difference would never show in the end results. However there is one company that’s finally bitten the bullet and called an end to all this madness and the product which has had the benefit from this is a new series of Canon camcorders.
The biggest thing is not only are more megapixels not necessarily a better thing but they can make things even worse due to the fact [...] Continue Reading…

What exactly goes on in cell phone companies today and why do they do some of the things they do? How do cell phone companies decide which place get a strong signal and which does not? What is behind all those complex tariff plans they put out and keep tweaking and why do they keep on changing them? Below are some of the reasons behind what cellphone companies are doing and trying to achieve.
As far as signal quality is concerned, it will depend on how many people happen to be in an area at a given time. If somehow, 5000 AT&T subscribers converge at a particular club at one point, they’ll begin to experience spotty or inconsistant signal quality. This isn’t really the fault of the cell phone companies as they cannot really anticipate when lots of people will suddenly move to an area for a short time. [...] Continue Reading…
