Scavenger Hunt Ideas
If you are looking for a great idea for a party, then holding a scavenger hunt might be something to consider. They aren’t just for kids and for the right group of grown-ups you can create a party that the attendees will be talking about for years.
For the best scavenger hunt, plan ahead and tailor your scavenger hunt list specifically to the theme of the party or the participants. If you are having a bachelorette party, you can add some racy items to your scavenger hunt list. For college-aged young adults, you can think about sending the groups of “hunters” all over campus – or even all over town, finding items and reporting them in on their cell phones as they compete with other teams to find the most items.
If you are looking for fun scavenger hunt ideas, just check Google for whatever theme you are thinking of and you should be able to find some decent lists, but make sure to take any list you find and adapt it to your own needs and environment.
To make your party even more entertaining, consider holding a photo scavenger hunt. Since mobile phones equipped with both cameras and internet access are rather ubiquitous today, you can easily put together your teams while ensuring that one or more teammates has a camera in their phone. Then just send them on their way with instructions to snap photos of their list items and then email them back via their phone to the judges.
The great thing about photo scavenger hunts is your lists don’t need to pertain just to items – you can have your teams perform various events while photographing them for posterity. Here’s a new thought – what about holding a video scavenger hunt? Many of those camera phones also have video capabilities. It could be lots of fun to watch the various antics the different teams got up to once everyone is back at the party headquarters.
